CODFA PRESIDENT STANKO ADDRESSES BOT: EXCITED TO EXPERIENCE OUR ENROLLMENT UP OVER 9 PERCENT
Nancy Stanko, President of the COD Faculty Association and Professor of Office Technology Information, made the following comments to the Board of Trustees at its meeting January 21, 2010:
Good Evening and Happy New Year to our Board Chair, Kathy, Board members, Dr. Breuder, and administrators. I am Nancy Stanko, President of CODFA.
I would like to introduce and welcome Ken Gray, our new CODFA vice president. He has begun a two-year term as vice president and will be attending Board meetings as well as working with me and the Faculty Association. Ken is a professor of psychology in the HSBS division. Welcome, Ken.
We are excited to experience our enrollment up over 9 percent. A big Thank You to Jane Smith, Michelle Searer, and the people in registration for putting so many hours to work in our environment with this increased growth.
As you may be aware, there has been a glitch in the programming of checking prerequisites for some of the courses for spring term. This means that there are students enrolled in courses where they have not met the prerequisites. Faculty is working with administration to offer what some of the solutions could be to help these students get into the correct courses. We thank Joe Collins, Glenda Gallisath, and Jane Smith for working with us to better help our students.
I hope you are as excited as we are to see many new certificates up for your approval on this evening's Agenda. We thank you for your support for new certificate offerings.
I would also like to recognize the efforts that are happening at COD with the support to the Haitian earthquake disaster recovery efforts. COD is certainly reaching out to our global community.
