Counseling Welfare Note

Another offering in a series of "Welfare Notes" that has been created by the Welfare Committee which are intended to ensure that all members of the Faculty Association are educated, informed, or updated in terms of welfare-related concerns and their rights contained within the Contractual Agreement.

Critical Coverage Dates and Counseling Faculty Summer Assignment (11/15/08)

A Counseling faculty member's request for a Summer indicating the percent of full-load assignment desired is due January 7. (See Section F 6, SUMMER ASSIGNMENTS, in our Contractual Agreement.) As you begin to consider the specific work dates of your summer assignment request, you should be aware of new language appearing in the Contractual Agreement. (See Section F 6.4, CRITICAL COVERAGE DATES WORKED BY COUNSELING FACULTY, in our Contractual Agreement.)

The Administration was interested in increasing the number of full-time counseling faculty who would be available to work anticipated high demand, "critical coverage dates," that would be identified which as occur sometime between the end of the Spring Semester and the beginning of the Fall Semester. An incentive to encourage your request to work some or all of these dates was negotiated.
