Committee By-Laws
A standing committee that will facilitate communication for the Faculty Senate and Faculty Association both internally and externally. The committee will assist the President and President-elect in communicating Senate/Association positions, concerns and faculty achievements. The President will be the official voice of the Association, all communications must be approved by the President.
- The committee will work closely with the President and Vice President.
- The committee will develop public relation strategies utilizing internal and external (IEA/NEA) resources.
- The committee will develop and maintain contacts with the press for conveying information through press releases.
- The intended audiences when appropriate should include the college community: faculty, adjunct faculty, classified staff, students, administrators, district residents and any other appropriate parties.
- The committee will develop and maintain a variety of communication methods, e-mail, web, newsletters, key communicators
- The committee will work with other committees to coordinate the communication of Senate and Association activities.
- Membership for the committee will be solicited by the Committee on Committees.
- The committee will be comprised of at least five faculty members and chaired by a Senator.
- Terms will be for two years, terms should be staggered to insure continuity.
