Two Year Appointments -- Beginning January

What is the Committee on Committees (COC)?

The COC is a standing committee established by the CODFA Bylaws and Special Rules. The COC tries to maintain fair divisional representation and a fair rotation of members on all committees. The Vice-President of CODFA serves as chair, and there are five members representing the various divisions for two-year terms.

How does the COC operate?

After being notified that there is a new committee or new opening on an existing committee, the COC chair sends out a call for volunteers. The chair oversees online ballot voting by the COC members, which may include simple approval or ranking of volunteers. If needed, the chair can break a tie.

After the voting process, the chair presents COC recommendations to Senate for approval. The chair informs the volunteers and committee chairs of the new memberships, and sends a letter of decline to the other applicants.

During the regular school year, the whole process usually takes 2-5 weeks.

Want to apply for a Committee?

If you want to volunteer for a committee, please apply by replying to the call via email (use the same subject line). The call will remain live for at least one week, and may need to be sent out a second time. Please allow a reasonable time for the vetting process. (Keep in mind the school calendar, and that this has to go through the COC and CODFA Senate.)

In your reply, please include:

Remember that COC members may not know you well, so please tell us something that will help us understand why you want to be on the committee. This helps a great deal if many people apply for the same committee.
